Cumberland City Council, as Crown Land Manager, gives notice under Section 47 of the Local Government Act 1993 (NSW) and Division 3.4 of the Crown Land Management Act 2016 (NSW), of its intention to grant licence renewals for the use of office spaces within the Auburn Centre for Community, located on council-managed Crown Land at 44A Macquarie Road, Auburn NSW 2144, being Lot 461 in DP752036.

The following organisations have expressed interest in extending their current tenure with Council and will be granted new licence agreements for a one (1) year term: 

  • Office 1: Refugee Advice & Casework Service (ABN 46 008 173 978) for the purpose of providing free legal advice, assistance and representation for financially disadvantaged and vulnerable people seeking asylum in Australia. 
  • Office 4: Bangabandhu Council (ABN 84 768 115 907) for the purpose of uniting and serving all ethnic Bengali origin people among the community, with an inclusive approach and involve charities with different organisations for a good cause.
  • Office 5: Early Ed (ABN 42 096 307 200) for the purpose of offering a mixture of outreach services and services based on referrals, including connecting with community networks and active members.

The proposed licence maintains all existing terms and conditions of the current agreements.

The Notice of Licence Proposal Merrylands is on exhibition from Friday 3 October 2025 to Tuesday 4 November 2025. During this community consultation period, residents are encouraged to submit their comments on the proposal. Anyone who wishes to provide feedback on the proposal must do so in writing by 5pm Tuesday 4 November 2025.
