John Knowles Park - Playspace Upgrade

We're proposing improvements to John Knowles Park and we want your feedback!Illustration of children's playground in a city park

Every year, Council conducts park improvement projects through various programs to meet the growing needs of our community. Council has prepared a draft concept and has asked the community for feedback on the proposed design for John Knowles Park.

The proposal includes installation of new play equipment within the existing brick-edged playground, offering a variety of engaging and inclusive play experiences for children of different ages and abilities. A new three-bay swing set will be positioned to take advantage of existing shade and provide easy access from the main path. New tree planting will enhance the natural feel of the park, while new concrete footpaths will improve accessibility and connectivity for all users, including those with prams, wheelchairs, or mobility aids. A new water bubbler will also be installed to support comfort and hydration during play. The open turf area will be retained, continuing to provide space for informal play and relaxation.

The community consultation period ran from Monday 3 November 2025 until Monday 1 December 2025. During this community consultation period, residents are encouraged to submit their comments on the proposal. The proposed concept design can be found in the Document Library.
