In line with the updated NSW Government Public Health Order, work will recommence on the Merrylands CBD Infrastructure Upgrade sites from Monday 23 August. Work will progress following the requirements stipulated for Construction Sites by the NSW Government.
As part of the Merrylands CBD infrastructure upgrade, Council’s Contractor, CA&I, will need to temporarily close the western end of Main Lane, Merrylands.
What disruption is expected?
-
There will be no vehicle access to the western end of Main Lane.
-
Vehicles can still access Main Lane to Finns Lane as usual.
-
Walking to businesses at the western end of Main Lane will be maintained as shown in the above diagram with blue arrows.
-
Parking permits will be provided for all affected businesses to allow unrestricted parking in the Addlestone Road Council Carpark.
-
Council commuter parking in Stockland Merrylands can be used as alternative parking.
-
Garbage bins can be wheeled for collection as well as deliveries
Council will work closely with CA&I to minimise disruption to residents and businesses. We aim to reopen Main Lane as soon as works are complete and when it’s safe to do so. We aim to minimise noise, but some noise is unavoidable.
