The consultation on the proposed Exeloo for York Street Park in Berala has closed, and submissions are now being reviewed. Thank you to everyone who submitted feedback.
July 2024 consultation:
Council is proposing new public amenities in York Street Park, Berala.
The new amenities will be automated toilets, focusing on access, safety and serviceability. These will be consistent with other amenities within the Cumberland local area. These toilets comply with disability access requirements, are self-cleansing, highly durable and reduce safety and crime risks.
The amenities will be located in a convenient location within York Street Park, providing easy and equitable access to high-use areas such as the playground. Other factors considered in selecting this location include:
- The minimisation of disruption related to connecting services (i.e. sewer)
- Principles of Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED)
