July 2023 Update
Council proposes to construct a roundabout at the intersection of Georges Avenue, Nottinghill Road and London Road, Lidcombe to improve traffic flow and mitigate road safety concerns.
As part of the proposal, the right turn movements will be banned for vehicles over 6m (trucks) on the following approaches:
- Georges Avenue – For vehicles over 6m approaching the proposed roundabout right turning into the northern approach of Nottinghill Road (travelling north).
- London Road – For vehicles over 6m approaching the proposed roundabout right turning into the southern approach of Nottinghill Road (travelling south).
Warning signs will be installed of this ban before the proposed roundabout. These right turn bans will not affect required truck movements in the area as there are many available alternate routes to reach their destinations.
