Cumberland 2030: Our Local Strategic Planning Statement

Consultation has concluded.

Thank you for your feedback on our Local Strategic Planning Statement.

Cumberland City is pleased to have provided the Cumberland 2030: Our Local Strategic Planning Statement(LSPS) to the Department of Planning, Industry and Environment for publication on the NSW planning portal.

You can view the Cumberland 2030: Our Local Strategic Planning Statement in the document library.

The LSPS was endorsed by Council in November 2019 for consideration by the Greater Sydney Commission, received a formal letter of support from the Greater Sydney Commission in March 2020, and was endorsed by Council for finalisation in March 2020. You can read the Council report on the Council website.

It is important that we plan for the future of Cumberland

Draft Cumberland 2030: Our Local Strategic Planning Statementsets out directions for Council’s planning for Cumberland, including housing, transport, employment, public spaces and parks. It has been prepared to provide strategic direction and a coordinated approach to effectively manage growth and development in the Cumberland area. It sets a land use vision and structure plan, and identifies priorities and actions to support the vision. The Statement is also aligned to the Greater Sydney Commission’s Central City District Plan.

The Draft Cumberland 2030: Our Local Strategic Planning Statementwill inform the preparation of the new Cumberland Local Environmental Plan (LEP) and Development Control Plan (DCP). It also complements the strategic directions and priorities outlined in Council’s Community Strategic Plan (CSP).
