Breaking news! By popular request, the Expressions of Interest for Council Committees have been extended!
The new closing date is now Tuesday 10 May 2022. Get involved in one of Council's Committees and Have Your Say.
Council is in the process of establishing its Advisory Committees for the new Council term, this includes the introduction of some new and exciting Committees! The purpose of Council’s Advisory Committees are to meet and provide advice and make recommendations to Council on key topics or matters central to the Committee as outlined in their Terms of Reference adopted by Council. Council is now seeking nominations for members of the Committee for the new term of each committee, and encourage our community to participate. Each Committee will have nominated Councillors sitting on them from the elected body, and are proposed to meet quarterly. The minutes of each Committee are reported to the Elected Council following the quarterly meetings.
Existing committees seeking new community representatives for this Council term:
- Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Consultative Committee
- Events Advisory Committee
- Floodplain Risk Management Committee
- Heritage Committee
New committees seeking new members for this Council term:
- Arts Advisory Committee
- Community Safety and Crime Prevention Committee
- Companion Animals Advisory Committee
- Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) Advisory Committee
- Green Corridor Advisory Committee
- Homelessness Committee
- Library Committee
- Youth Advisory Committee
You can view the Terms of Reference for each of the new committees in the Document Library. The Terms of Reference provides an overview of the responsibilities of the Committee as well as how the Committee will operate. Please note that Members of a Committee are volunteers and are not remunerated for their time.
The Expressions of Interest for Council's Committees are open from Friday 25 March until 11pm Tuesday 10 May 2022.
To nominate for an Advisory Committee, please complete the below online form, or print and return the Expression of Interest form available to download from the document library on the right hand side of this page.

There are three ways you can lodge an EOI nomination:
- Complete an online submission below.
- Email the completed Expression of Interest Nomination Form to Council@cumberland.nsw.gov.au, and quote subject line ‘Cumberland Committees Expression of Interest Nomination’. Your email must be received by 11pm Tuesday 10 May 2022 in order for your nomination to be assessed.
- Post the completed Expression of Interest Nomination Form to The General Manager, Cumberland City Council, PO Box 42, Merrylands NSW 2160 and quote subject line ‘Cumberland Committees Expression of Interest Nomination'. Please note we must receive your EOI by 5pm Tuesday 10 May 2022 in order for your nomination to be assessed. (Nominations postmarked with 10 May but received after this date will not be considered.)
