The Planning Proposal Request was reported to Cumberland's Local Planning Panel meeting on 11 May 2022 and Council's meeting of 1 June 2022 which resolved to not support progressing the Planning Planning Proposal Request for a Gateway Determination. Refer to Council meeting minutes here.

Consultation has closed on the planning proposal request for Merrylands East Local Centre, Merrylands (258 Woodville Road and related properties) (PP2022/0002), and submissions are now being reviewed. Thank you to everyone who submitted feedback.
March 2022 consultation:
Council invites you to have your say on a on a request for Merrylands East Local Centre, Merrylands (258 Woodville Road and related properties) (PP2022/0002). The proposed site is indicated in the map below:
The proposal seeks to amend the site’s planning controls under Cumberland LEP 2021 to:
- Increase the RE1-zoned portion from 2,000sq.m to 2,500sq.m
- Increase the Floor Space Ratio from 2.2:1 to 2.6:1 across the site
- Increase the Height of Buildings on the northeast portion of the site, facing Woodville Road, from 31m to 49m (13 storeys).
The Planning Proposal seeks to also amend the Cumberland DCP 2021 and existing Voluntary Planning Agreement (VPA) to increase the size of the RE1 zoned portion of the site to be dedicated by 500m2 (from 2000m2 to 2500m2) and amend the existing VPA to increase the proposed number of dedicated affordable housing units by 7 (from 8 to 15 units).
