March 2022 update:
Consultation has closed on the planning proposal request for 245 -247 Great Western Highway, South Wentworthville (PP2022/0003), and submissions are now being reviewed. Thank you to everyone who submitted feedback.
March 2022 consultation:
Council invites you to have your say on a proposal request applying to land at 245 -247 Great Western Highway, South Wentworthville (PP2022/0003). The proposed site is indicated in the map below:
The proposal seeks to amend the R2 zoned site’s planning controls under Cumberland LEP 2021 to:
- Increase existing building height from 9m to 21m (5-6 storeys); and
- Add ‘hotel or motel accommodation’ and ‘food and drink premises’ as an additional permitted use to schedule 1.
The proposal’s intended outcomes are to redevelop the site to facilitate a 5-6 storey hotel or motel with basement parking, restore the existing heritage significant Wattles House along with heritage gardens and landscaping for visitor use to make it more viable, usable and accessible.
