Freame Park - A New Play Destination

Consultation Background

This project has now concluded, with the new park completed.

Cumberland Council is proposing and upgrade toFreame Park in Mays Hill(External link), to deliver high quality community facilities, improving connectivity, access and recreation opportunities. The development of a new multi-user playground will also provide a new play destination in the area, with the upgrade aligned with Council's Community Strategic Goal 1 'A great place to live'. You mayreview this document online. Council would like to seek your feedback and input on the proposed upgrades.

Key enhancements and improvements

Works proposed include landscape upgrade works and the installation of a new playground:

  • Construction of a new playground with mulch soft-fall and rubber Softfall surrounds. Play equipment would include a multi-unit with slide, accessible spinner, 3-bay swing set (nest swing, toddler seat and strap seat) and a rocker.
  • Installation of a new ball fence between the basketball court, playground and road, plus new a sandstone seating wall.
  • New concrete access path.
  • Planting of shade trees, low native grasses and shrubs.

Construction Commences on Freame Park!

Construction work for a new playground at Freame Park, Mays Hill is starting this week. Safety fencing was installed on Thursday.

The adjacent Basketball Court is still open and shouldn’t be impacted during construction.

Works are anticipated to take 5 weeks ( weather permitting).
