September 2023 Update
Council is proposing a new public amenities in Dirrabari Reserve, Pemulwuy.
The new amenities will be automated toilets, focusing on access, safety and serviceability. These will be consistent with other amenities within the Cumberland local area, such as in Woodpark Reserve. These toilets comply with disability access requirements, are self-cleansing, highly durable and reduce safety and crime risks.
The amenities will be located in a convenient location within Dirrabari Reserve, providing easy and equitable access to high-use areas such as the playground. Other factors considered in selecting this location include:
- The minimisation of disruption related to connecting services (i.e. sewer)
- Principles of Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED)
