Council is in the process of establishing its Advisory Committees for the new Council term! The purpose of Council’s Advisory Committees are to meet and provide advice and make recommendations to Council on key topics or matters central to the Committee as outlined in their Terms of Reference adopted by Council. Council is now seeking nominations for members of the Advisory Committee for the new term of each committee, and encourage our community to participate. Each Advisory Committee will have nominated Councillors sitting on them from the elected body, and are proposed to meet quarterly. The minutes of each Advisory Committee are reported to the Elected Council following the quarterly meetings.
Committees seeking new community representatives for this Council term:
- Arts, Culture and Events Advisory Committee
- Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Consultative (ATSIC) Committee
- Community Wellbeing and Inclusion Advisory Committee
- Domestic and Family Violence Prevention Advisory Committee
- Flood Risk Management Committee
- Heritage Advisory Committee
- Library Advisory Committee
- Youth, Recreation and Sport Advisory Committee

The Terms of Reference provides an overview of the responsibilities of the Advisory Committee, as well as how the Advisory Committee will operate. Please note that Members of an Advisory Committee are volunteers and are not remunerated for their time.
The Expressions of Interest (EOI) for Council's Advisory Committees are open from Tuesday 24 June to Tuesday 22 July 2025.
