August 2024 update:

Council was successful in receiving grant funding towards the project from the NSW Government’s Places to Roam- Community Garden Program-Round 3.  Information about Places-To-Roam is available on the NSW Government website.


June 2023 update:

Consultation on the Proposed Community Garden in Central Park Lidcombe has closed and submissions are now being reviewed. Thank you to everyone who submitted feedback. 


May 2023 consultation:

At its meeting on 1 February 2023, Cumberland City Council proposed a Notice of Motion that endorsed in-principle to implement a Communtiy Garden in Central Park, Lidcombe. You can view the minutes from the meeting online.

Council is now seeking support and feedback on the proposed Community Garden. A plan showing the proposed location of the community garden has been created for your feedback. View the Location Plan in the Document Library.

Council values the opinions and suggestions of the community, and would appreciate your thoughts on the proposed Community Garden location.

We encourage you to download a copy of the proposed location plan for review from our document library.

The consultation period runs from Tuesday 2 May until Tuesday 30 May 2023. During this community consultation period, residents are encouraged to give their feedback about the Proposed Community Garden in Central Park, Lidcombe. Anyone who wishes to provide feedback on the proposal must do so in writing by 6pm Tuesday 30 May 2023.

Submissions concerning this proposal are to be made by 6pm Tuesday 30 May 2023.
