In May 2026, Council resolved to undertake early consultation on proposed amendments to planning controls for Cumberland City, and we invite you to have your say.
Council is proposing amendments to the planning controls for Cumberland City, which are the Cumberland Local Environmental Plan and Cumberland Development Control Plan. These amendments seek to support sustainable growth and promote housing delivery by:
- Updating development standards and controls for a range of land uses;
- Reviewing some planning controls to reflect recent changes in the NSW planning system; and
- Providing changes to specific planning controls, diagrams and tables.
Now we want your feedback!
Council values the opinions and suggestions of the community and would appreciate your feedback on the proposed amendments to planning controls for Cumberland City.
The early engagement period is from 21 July 2026 to 17 August 2026.
Submissions are to be made by 5pm on Monday 17 August 2026. Please be aware that submissions may be made available to any person or organisation.
