  • Hazard Reduction Burn - Tuesday 24 September 2024

    Fire and Rescue NSW has advised of hazard reduction burns on Tuesday 24 September in Grey Box Reserve, Pemulwuy.

    Residents around the area should be aware that there will be bushfire smoke, so keep doors and windows closed.

    Residents should also:

    • Vehicles must slow down, keep windows up, turn headlights on
    • Keep outdoor furniture under cover to prevent ember burns
    • Retract pool covers to prevent ember damage
    • Remove washing from clothes lines
    • Ensure pets have a protected area
    • Obey the instructions of traffic controllers and emergency services
    • Keep away from burns for their own safety
    • Reduce outdoor activities if smoke levels are high and you have asthma or a lung condition, and if shortness of breath or coughing develops, take your reliever medicine or seek medical advice
    • Never fly drones or Remote Piloted Aircraft near bush fires or hazard reductions, where aircraft may be operating. Penalties apply.
