Youth Week team at 2019 Youth Week night market

Council supports young people to organise, plan and run Youth Week each year. It is all about Youth For Youth: young people leading the decision-making, including all aspects of event planning, budgets, promotion and running the events.

Below is a message from your Youth Week planning team for Youth Week 2020:

We want young people to share ideas for Youth Week 2020!

We are a dynamic group of young people sharing our ideas and leading the planning, development and running of ‘Youth Week 2020’. We need your input to make sure that Youth Week 2020 is best Youth Week yet!

Here are some ideas we have:

  1. Market Day: Market day is family friendly event where we will hold open stage entertainment, stalls, food trucks and an art exhibition

  2. Interfaith Day: We invite all people of faith and no faith to partake in an opportunity that will expand knowledge, empathy and understanding on diverse worldviews

  3. Multicultural Day: Come along and support the cultural diversity within our council. This is a day of appreciating the divergences, yet similarities through cultural performances, singing, food and entertainment.

  4. Competition Day: Enjoy a variety of competitive activities (Debating, Creative Writing, Dance off, Sport) throughout the day to build on team working skills and win some awesome prizes.
