December 2020 Consultation:
A new pop-up park on Dunmore Street in Wentworthville is available for people to visit. The pop-up park is an innovative way to bring the natural world to an urban environment. The pop-up park enables Council to pilot new ideas for streets as shared spaces that support healthier, safer and more resilient communities. This initiative aims to improve walkability along Dunmore Street and create a space that can be enjoyed while mitigating impacts of urban heat.
The pop-up park supports the vision identified in Council’s Wentworthville Public Domain Plan 2020, to establish a new linear park that supports outdoor dining, shaded seating areas, lighting features and Water Sensitive Urban Design.
The pop-up will be trialled until February 2021.
This project was funded by the NSW Government’s Streets as Shared Spaces program.
