Ralph St Westmead Tree Removal

We want you feedback!

It was brought to Council's attention that five large, mature
'Ficus microcarpa hilli' trees located in front of 3, 5, 11 and 13 Ralph Street, Westmead, required immediate assessment of their health, form, structure, and suitability for retention.

Council engaged the services of the General Forest Tree Surgeon to provide a comprehensive report. The General Forest Tree Surgeon concluded that the removal of the trees is necessary, noting that the trees are unsuitable for the location and their longer-term viability is likely to cause further impacts.

Further, it has been determined that the trees are causing significant damage to the surrounding infrastructure and are having a negative impact on the wellbeing of the community.

Council intends to replace all of the removed trees with suitable, endemic species. The works are planned to be undertaken in September 2023. All verges that are affected will be re-turfed on completion of the works.
