Have your say on Council's Draft Library Strategy

Consultation has concluded

Council’s first Draft Cumberland Library Strategy has been developed to provide a strategic approach to the delivery of library services across the Cumberland Local Government Area.

Our libraries are increasingly seen as community hubs, where connections are built and people can learn, find information, use technology and access a broad range of lifelong learning programs.

Council’s vision is to offer vibrant and inviting destinations by connecting our community through access to information, literacy, education, lifelong learning and creativity.

To ensure our library services remain relevant in our fast changing community, the three year Strategy (2018-2021) has been developed with the following objectives:

  • Ensure library services meet the goals and objectives set by Council’s planning framework;
  • Provide free access to library and information services;
  • Meet the recreational, information and educational needs of the community;
  • Provide facilities appropriate for current and future needs;
  • Provide access to online services, innovation and technology.
