March 2021 Consultation:

Cumberland City Council is proposing upgrades to George Street Park in Guildford. The upgrade will see the introduction of shade trees and landscape planting. Additionally, the inclusion of terraced retaining walls will create a level area, around 190m2, for recreation.

Through consultation with residents, a preferred recreation activity will be selected and included in the final design. The activity could be one of the following options:

  1. Fitness stations
  2. Play equipment
  3. Passive space including turf and seating

Construction is expected to commence in FY2021-22. The park upgrade is funded by Cumberland City Council as part of Council’s Capital Works Program.

During this community consultation period, residents are encouraged to submit their comments on the proposal by Monday 22 March 2021.
