Draft Free Parking Agreement - Stockland

Consultation has concluded

Stockland parking entry

Council has received an application to enter into a Free Parking Agreement for the existing free public parking area at Stockland Mall (191-201 Pitt Street, Merrylands, Lot 11 DP 1178684). The applicants and landowners are The Trust Company Limited and Stockland Trust Management Limited. The affected carpark is located on the ground floor under Coles, accessed from Pitt Street, Merrylands. Click here for a map of the affected area.

The public carpark will remain as all-day free parking. This proposal does not include the paid parking area past the boom gates.

The proposed Free Parking Agreement will improve public safety by allowing traffic offences to be dealt with, such as parking over pedestrian crossing, across safety barricades, outside of marked bays and double parking.

As part of the draft Free Parking Agreement, Council will assume control of the land. All land that is under Council control needs to be classified as either 'Community' or 'Operational'. The land is proposed to be classified as 'Operational' due to its commercial function.
