Council has adopted a Children and Families Strategy. The strategy aims to improve the lives of children and their families and ensure that Cumberland is a place where children are safe, have access to quality education and care, have a voice and have multiple avenues to participate in community life, including opportunities to develop their health and wellbeing. You can view the adopted strategy below or by clicking here.

A draft strategy was co-developed with the community between July 2018 and August 2019, consisting of face-to-face consultations, workshops and online surveys.

Council asked for feedback on the draft strategy in August and September 2019. Eight submissions were received. The response to these submissions can be found by clicking here.

The strategy is also supported by a background paper, State of Education and Care in Cumberland. You can view the background paper by clicking here.

If you would like more information about this strategy, please contact Council's Senior Coordinator Children and Youth Development on 8757 9000 or Council@Cumberland.nsw.gov.au.
