Stay informed about the works along Blaxcell Street
August 2022 update:
The Blacxell Street roadworks have now been completed.
May 2022 update:
The recent wet weather has delayed the completion of the road works with the final surface layer and line-marking outstanding.
Weather permitting, the revised completion date is Thursday night 19 May 2022 for the final surface layer and early June for line-marking.
April 2022 notice:
Following recent prolonged and heavy wet weather periods, the existing road pavement has further deteriorated and has failed in many sections. It is important, in the interest of public safety, to complete road works as soon as practically possible.
Council will commence the urgent repair of the road pavement along Blaxcell Street between Guildford Road and Markey Street Guildford from Tuesday 19 April 2022. This is the second week of the school holidays, and has been selected to minimise disruption on school traffic.
It is anticipated the repair works will be completed in four (4) days, weather permitting. Please note the following changes during this time:
- Road works will commence from 7am and be completed by 6pm each night.
- Buses and emergency vehicles will be permitted though the works however Bus Stops will be temporarily closed during road pavement repair works.
- All traffic lanes of Blaxcell Street will open to traffic from 6pm each night.
The traffic guidance plans found in the document library provide the proposed traffic guidance schemes which are modified each day to suit the stage and locations of road pavement repairs. We encourage residents to review the plans if they are in the area impacted by these emergency works.
