Auburn Centre for Community - Public Notice of Intention to Licence

July 2022 consultation:

Cumberland City Council as Crown Land Manager gives notice under Section 47 of the Local Government Act 1993 (NSWW) and Division 3.4 of the Crown Land Management Act 2016 (NSW), of its intention to grant licence agreements over part of council-managed Crown Land known as Auburn Centre For Community, 44A Macquarie Road, Auburn NSW 2144 in Lot 461 of DP752036.

The following organisations were successful in their application in response to an open tender process (RFx243) that closed on 30 May 2022.

  • Office 1: Refugee Advice & Casework Service for the purpose of providing free legal advice, assistance and representation for financially disadvantaged and vulnerable people seeking asylum in Australia.
  • Office 2: Afghan Peace Foundation for the purpose of running charity programs to support women and children’s right and fight poverty.
  • Office 3: Barnardos for the purpose of offering disability support programs, targeted early intervention and family connect and support to the community, as a local need for disability services for children and young people of school age in the Cumberland LGA.
  • Office 4: Bangabandhu Council for the purpose of uniting and serving all ethnic Bengali origin people among the community, with an inclusive approach and involve charities with different organisations for any good cause.
  • Office 5: Early Ed for the purpose of offering a mixture of outreach services and services based on referrals, including connecting with community networks and active members.

The proposed terms and conditions of the Licence for consideration are as follows:

Premises: Five core tenant office spaces to support the delivery of regular funded community-facing services and programs, suitable for community service and program provision.

Term: 2 Years

Commencement: August 2022

Fee: Lump sum offer put forward by the organisation
