March 2021 consultation:

Cumberland City Council is giving notification of the exhibition of its Draft Asbestos Management Framework.

The Draft Asbestos Management Framework 2021 (the Framework) summarises Council’s plans, strategies and policies to provide guidance and inform decision making to help Council effectively manage contaminated land issues as they arise in Cumberland City.

The Framework includes a five-year action plan across three key focus areas:

  • Key Focus Area 1: Planning and Contaminated Land Management
  • Key Focus Area 2: Asbestos Awareness and Education
  • Key Focus Area 3: Asbestos in Council Assets

The adoption of the Draft Asbestos Management Framework 2021 will ensure that Council remains committed to managing asbestos issues and mitigate risks associated with asbestos.

We encourage you to download a copy of the Cumberland Asbestos Managment Framework for review from our document library.

During this community consultation period, residents are encouraged to submit their comments on the draft framework.
