Council has adopted a Child Protection Policy. Council supports the rights of children and young people and is committed to their care and protection. This policy informs the child protection practices of the entire organisation and ensures that Council adheres to its legislative requirements under relevant NSW law. Council asked for feedback on the draft policy in August and September 2018. Five submissions were received, including from the Office of the Children's Guardian. The response to these submissions can be found by clicking here.
